Clarity

The light came round the corner of the building at about four and I stopped for it.

Your words are set in the serif. Everything the app says is set in the smaller sans, including this. The two are never the same size or the same face, so a sentence the app wrote can never be mistaken for one you did.

How it goes

• Each day Keep one photograph, write what you want beside it, and place it on the day's graph.
• Each week Once the week has ended, choose one of its photographs and say what it was. The other six stay exactly where they are.
• Each month The same, one level up, in the first week of the month after. Then the month is closed.

What it leaves alone

• A day holds a photograph, whatever you wrote, and where you put it on the graph. Nothing else is attached to it.
• Come back tomorrow or in a year. The page looks the same and says nothing about the gap.
• It keeps what you wrote. It does not reply to it.
• There is no account, no sign-in, and no way to reach another person through it.
• No model reads your entries. There is not one in the app.

These are rules the code is checked against rather than intentions. They live in the repository beside the app, and the checks run before this page is published.

Where it is kept

On the phone, in the app's own storage. It is left out of backups and, on iOS, encrypted while the device is locked. There is no network call anywhere in the app, and a test fails if one appears.

Choosing a photograph opens the system picker, which hands back the one image you tapped. The rest of your library is as private from Clarity as from an app you never installed.
